U.S. crude oil futures ended with pared gains on Tuesday, in tandem with Wall Street stock prices which came off early highs and ahead of weekly data forecast to show that crude stocks rose last week. Earlier, crude futures rose to near $72 a barrel as a weaker dollar prompted investors to hedge and place bets on commodities as equities rose.
