Given the levels seen over the past year, the overall theme remains one of above average risk appetite. At -0.47 (vs. -0.44 one month previously), the Risk Appetite Index remained stable over the month and suggests that risk appetite remains healthy when compared to historical performance.

· Although there has been a minor improvement in the index over the past month, the numbers mask a volatile couple of weeks for risk appetite. Having fallen to as low as -0.58, the index has risen (reflecting reduced risk appetite) over the past week back up to -0.47.

· The upward move has been driven primarily by three of the components: equities, commodities and emerging market bonds.
