Employment growth has improved, driven by government and education & healthcare services, and more recently by professional and business services, which include legal services, computer systems design, temporary help services and waste management. The unemployment rate remains nearly two percentage points below that of the nation, but this is primarily due to contraction in the labor force that started about a year ago, as opposed to job growth.
